The Latest On Ida

video

The majority of the computer forecasts are in agreement over the next two days and have Ida making landfall along the Alabama/Florida coast. Afterwards, the forecast gets difficult for late Tuesday and into Wednesday.

The remnants could drift over us and bring the potential for heavy rain OR the remnants could get deflected into the Atlantic Ocean and we will only see a few showers. I'm expecting something in between the two extremes with rain possible Tuesday evening then on-and-off through Wednesday.

First Freeze Friday Night?

October 30 is the average date for the first freeze in Richmond. We have yet to drop to the magical 32 degree mark, though it was a close call a couple weeks ago when we hit 35.

It will be a close call again on Friday night. We will get a quick blast of cold air.

High pressure will then settle in and provide perfect ingredients for a cold night: clear skies and calm winds.

I'm expecting at least a few areas to drop into the lower 30s with frost likely for almost everyone.
