Major Snow Storm Headed This Way!

The latest computer data continues to show our area getting buried in snow Friday afternoon through Saturday night. In fact, this one could go down in the record books! The largest snow total from one storm is 21.6" (set back on January 23, 1940). Some parts of Central Virginia could easily reach that mark. These next few days are going to be super busy in the weather center!

First Big Snow Of The Season?

A powerful storm system is going to develop along the Gulf Of Mexico and head this way for the upcoming weekend. If this storm hugs the east coast, then we could see our first accumulating snow of the season.

Right now it looks like temperatures will be too warm for snow on Saturday morning. However, once colder air wraps into the storm, then we will see some snow. This is still a long way out, so a lot can change in the next couple days. Even the slightest shift in the track of this system could have dramatic effects on our weather this weekend!
